τραγουδά ο miles kane

What do I have to do
To get you where
I want you

I'll guess we'll see
What might be, whoa

You're a million miles
A million miles away
So come closer
So come closer
So come closer
Whoa, whoa

You're reasons, don't make any sense
I'll never rely on you
And you're draped on him
While you're staring at me
Whoa, whoa

You're a million miles
A million miles away
So come closer
So come closer
So come closer
Whoa, ahh, ah

You're a million miles
A million miles away
So come closer
So come closer
Whoa, ahh, ah

You're twistin' my melon man, you know you talk so hip man
You're twistin' my melon man

Hey rainmaker, come away from that man
You know he's never gonna take away your promised land
Hey good lady he just wants what you got now
He'll never stop until he's taken the lot
(Hey Hey he hey hey)

Gonna stamp out your fire, he can change your desire
Don't you know he van make you forget you're a man
Gonna stamp out your fire, he can change your desire
Don't you know he van make you forget you're a man
You're a man

Hey rainmaker he got golden plans I tell you
You'll make a stranger in your own land
Hey good lady he's got God on his side he got a double
Tongue you never think he would lie
(Oh he lied, oooh he's twistin' my melon man
(Oh he lied, oooh he's twistin' my melon man)

Gonna stamp out your fire, he can change your desire
Don't you know he van make you forget you're a man
Gonna stamp out your fire, he can change your desire
Don't you know he van make you forget you're a man
You're the man, you're the man

He's gonna step on you again, he's gonna step on you
He's gonna step on you again, he's gonna step on you

to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die

There is a light that never goes out

Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
Who are young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people
And I want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their home
And I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
But then a strange fear gripped me
And I just couldn't ask

Take me out tonight
Oh take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
No, I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes in to us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine

There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out
There is a light that never goes out

Eighties - i'm living in the eighties
Eighties - i have to push, i have to struggle
Eighties - get out of my way, i'm not for sale no more
Eighties - let's kamikaze 'til we get there

And we sang
You do it this way

Eighties - by day we run by night we dance, we do
Eighties - i'm in love with the coming race
Eighties - i've got the best, i'll take all i can get
Eighties - i'm living for the eighties

Eighties - i'm living in the eighties - i push
Eighties - i'm living
Eighties - i'm living in the eighties - i struggle
Eighties - i'm living

Eighties - i'm living
Eighties - i'm living in the eighties
Eighties - i'm living in the eighties - i push
Eighties - push, push, struggle

Eighties - i'm living
Eighties - eighties - i'm living
Eighties - i'm living in the eighties - i push
Eighties - push, push, struggle

Eighties - I'm living in the Eighties
Eighties - I have to push, I prostitute myself
Eighties - I saw the whole world getting anxious
Eighties - I saw the worlds begin to march

And we sang
In these Eighties

Eighties - I'm sitting on a table talking ideals
Eighties - I got the best, I'll take all I can get
Eighties - Here comes the savage day
Eighties - I saw the worlds begin to march

And we sang
In these Eighties

Eighties - I'm living in the Eighties - I push
Eighties - I saw the worlds begin to march
Eighties - I'm living in the Eighties - I struggle
Eighties - I saw the worlds begin to march

Eighties - I'm living in the Eighties - I push
Eighties - I saw the worlds begin to march
Eighties - I'm living in the Eighties - I struggle
Eighties - I saw the worlds begin to march

The Letter

(written by Wayne Carson Thompson)

Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane,
Ain't got time to take a fast train.
Lonely days are gone, I'm a-goin' home,
'Cause my baby just a-wrote me a letter.
I don't care how much money I gotta spend,
Got to get back to my baby again
Lonely days are gone, I'm a-goin' home,
'Cause my baby just a-wrote me a letter.
Well, she wrote me a letter
Said she couldn't live without me no mo'.
Listen mister can't you see I got to get back
To my baby once a-mo'--anyway...
Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane,
Ain't got time to take a fast train.
Lonely days are gone, I'm a-goin' home,
'Cause my baby just a-wrote me a letter.
Well, she wrote me a letter
Said she couldn't live without me no mo'.
Listen mister can't you see I got to get back
To my baby once a-mo'--anyway...
Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane,
Ain't got time to take a fast train.
Lonely days are gone, I'm a-goin' home,
'Cause my baby just a-wrote me a letter.
Because my baby just a-wrote me a letter.

WAKE UP AND MAKE LOVE WITH ME Ian Dury I come awake With a gift for womankind You're still asleep But the gift don't seem to mind Rise on this occasion Halfway up your back Sliding down your body Touching your behind You look so self-possessed I won't disturb your rest It's lovely when you're sleeping But wide awake is best Wake up and make love with me Wake up and make love Wake up and make love with me I don't want to make you I'll let the fancy take you And you'll wake up and make love You come awake In a horny morning mood And have a proper wriggle In the naughty naked nude Roll against my body Get me where you want me What happens next is private It's also very rude I'll go and get the post And make some tea and toast You have a lover's sleep, love It's me that needs it most Wake up and make love with me Wake up and make love Wake up and make love with me I don't want to make you I'll let the fancy take you And you'll wake up and make love Wake up and make love with me Wake up and make love Wake up and make love with me Wake up and make love Wake up Wake up Wake up Wake up

My mistakes were made for you

About as subtle as an earthquake, I know
My mistakes were made for you
And in the back room of a bad dream she came
And whisked me away, enthused

And it's as solid as a rock rolling down a hill
The fact is that it probably will hit something
On the hazardous terrain

And we're just following the flock,
'Round and in between, before we're smashed to smithereens
Like they were, and we scramble from the blame

And it's the fame that put words in her mouth
She couldn't help but spit 'em out
Innocence and arrogance entwined
In the filthiest of minds

She was bitten on her birthday and now
A face in the crowd she's not
And I suspect that now forever the shape
She came to escape is forgot

And it's a lot to ask her not to sting
And give her less than everything
Around your crooked conscience she will wind

'Cause we're just following the flock,
'Round and in between, before we're smashed to smithereens
Like they were, and we scramble from the blame

And it's the fame that put words in her mouth
She couldn't help but spit 'em out
Around your crooked conscience she will wind

And it's a lot to ask her not to sting
And give her less than everything
Innocence and arrogance entwined.

The jeweller's hands
Fiendish wonder in the carnival's wake
Dull caresses once again irritate
Tread softly stranger
Move over toward the danger that you seek

You think excitement has receded then the mirror distracts
The logic of the trance quickly reaches and grasps
Handsome and faceless and weightless your imagination runs

And now it's no ones fault but yours, at the foot of the house of cards
You thought you'd never get obsessed
You thought the wolves would be impressed
And you're a sinking stone
But you know what it's like to hold the jeweller's hands
That procession of pioneers all drowned

In the moonlight they're more thrilling those things that he knows
As he leads you through the grinning bubble blowers in the snow
Watching his exit was like falling off the ferry in the night

The inevitables gather to push you around
Any other voice makes such a punishing sound
It became laughter's assassin shortly after he showed you what it was

And now it's no ones fault but yours, at the foot of the house of cards
You thought you'd never get obsessed
You thought the wolves would be impressed
And you're a sinking stone,
But you know what it's like to hold the jewellers hands
That procession of pioneers all drowned

If you've a lesson to teach me I'm listening, ready to learn
There's no one here to police me I'm sinking in until the return
If you've a lesson to teach please don't deviate, don't be afraid,
Without the last corner piece I can't calibrate, let's get it engraved.

How can you always be late for your arrival?
You know I'd forgive you every single time

Retreat, retreat, I've fallen at the low tide
Oh, retreat, retreat and meet me by the quayside

In the end all you can hope for
Is the love you felt to equal the pain you've gone through

Are your eyes showing off for mine?
Your face in my hands is everything good I need

The system's put in place, put there to protect us
For you I'd throw a lifeline every time

Oh, retreat, retreat, I've fallen at the low tide
Now retreat, retreat and meet me by the quayside

In the end all you can hope for
Is the love you felt to equal the pain you've gone through

Are your eyes showing off for mine?
Your face in my hands is everything good I need

Bones starved of flesh surround an aching heart
Full of love

Oh, bones, starved of flesh surround your aching heart
Full of love

Bones starved of flesh surround your aching heart

Bones

Oh bones

I watch as your eyes show off for mine
I watch as your eyes show off
I watch as your eyes show off for mine
I watch as your eyes show off

All that I see
show me your ways
teach me to meet my desires...with some grace

All that I fear
don´t turn away
and leave me to plead in this hole of a place
what if I never break
estuary won´t you take me
far away
far away

All that I seek
please police me
I want you to police me
but keep it clean

now that you meet my day
now let´s take them away
(that´s why I hold you)
Strong as you´ve seen
Old as you behave
(that´s why I hold you)
you will always obey
(that´s why I hold you)

All that I feel
capital ways
teach me to grieve and conspire
with my age

All that I can see
a gold mystic spree
a seeithing routine
I could never navigate
maybe I like to stray

no harm it seems to be less so free...not today
it´s like you want it that way

All that I see
peaceful eyes drawn away from me
drawn away from me

we would like to take the sights
(that´s why I hold you)
and bring silence in disguise
(that´s why I hold you... dear)
we would like to meet the buyer that is on your life
that´s why I hold you
that´s why I hold you dear
that´s why I hold you....

Please don't let me be misunderstood

Baby, do you understand me now?
Sometimes I feel a little mad
But don't you know that no one alive can always be an angel
When things go wrong I feel real bad.

I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree
With a joy that's hard to hide
And sometimes it seems that, all I have to do is worry
And then you're bound to see my other side

I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

If I seem edgy, I want you to know,
That I never mean to take it out on you
Life has its problems, and I get my share,
And that's one thing I never mean to do

Cause I love you,
Oh,

Oh, oh, oh, baby - don't you know I'm human
I have thoughts like any other one
Sometimes I find myself, Lord, regretting
Some foolish thing, some little simple thing I've done

I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood
Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood

Yes, I'm just a soul whose intentions are good
